Wow quest tracker not showing

Hi guys,Does anyone know any addon to track only important quest for the storyline? 15 years ago when I was playing WoW I wasn’t really reading quests and I feel like I missed a lot of the plot. However, we all know that most of the quests in vanilla wow were pretty much pointless “kill 10 bears, bring 10 eggs, eat 20 pony tails”. They’re there just to get XP and the story is quite poor.

Therefore I don’t feel like wasting my time to read all of this, but at the same time I would not like to miss something important. The same addon for BFA would be appreciated as well. Thanks! There is no major storyline in Classic. WotLK was the first instance which had a somewhat linear progression in the storyline of the theme of the expansion.Vanilla was a gathering of multiple issues spread across the continent, dealing with the aftermath of the wars and conflicts of warcraft 1 to 3. Conflicts within the horde, SW politics, the scourge, worgen and trogg invasions and ofc the conflict between horde and alliance. The only major story questline I can think of on the top of my mind is the Onyxia atunement chain Alliance side. Also there is the defias brotherhood, but that has a fragmented story consisting of multiple quests in different zones not really connected to eachother directly. If youi’re into lore, then I would advice you to read all quest text. Even the most insignificant quests often have a bigger plot behind it. Ony attunement for instance starts of by killing x number of dragons.

Seems like an everyday chore but it eventually leads to one of the bigger plot points in vanilla.Imo, it gives an extra dimension to questing once you start connecting the dots. Nowadays questing doesn’t leave anything to the imagination.

Instead, the story is served on a silver platter complete with cutscenes per quest. Depends on what you define as “important”.For example the entire “Patrolling Westfall” questline consists mostly of “Kill 10 of them and collect 15 of those”, but the chain culminates with explaining who the Defias are, who Van Cleef is and why he’s suddenly a threat. The narrative in classic is a bit different from that of WotLK and onwards, it requires you to pay attention yourself if you’re interested.Personally, I like to read the quest-text and try to immerse myself a little, even if the quest appears trivial in nature. When farmer GenericNPC wants me to rid his field of 10 Scorpions, I like to know why and that make me feel like i am helping someone, and not grinding “for teh expeee”. However, we all know that most of the quests in vanilla wow were pretty much pointless “kill 10 bears, bring 10 eggs, eat 20 pony tails”.Those quests were there to give shape to your having to grind mobs for XP.Lets say you skip them all, how do you propose to level up on a handfull of story driven questlines?Besides, iirc. You can switch off the scrolling quest text and see in a 2 second glance if the quest is about gathering or not.Don’t forget that if you skip quests you will not have a chance to get much XP from them later when they go green and grey. Thanks guys for all your replies!I agree with you that it’s good to read everything.

Each time I start to play I am trying to do that, but usually I get bored quite fast. But maybe Classic is a good opportunity to give it another shot: )Nevertheless, I still think it’s a great idea for addon. If not addon, maybe it would be good to have a list of important quests. The quest chain in Westfall you mentioned before is a great example.

Turn On Quest Tracking Wow

It was a good long story. Meanwhile, the quest chain with cooking different animals around (everyone knows it) was just terrible: ). Just gonna (perhaps pointlessly) echo what others are saying - there is no overarching storyline or “big boss” in Classic, which is part of why (IMO) the world feels so much larger and alive - you’re not being funnelled towards an ultimate antagonist and bombarded with information about them. Some minor (read: boring) quests have tidbits of lore scattered throughout the quest text or NPC interactions.

Some of the lore isn’t explained at all and kinda expects you to have played some of the previous Warcraft games or read some of the books.Hell, I’m sure characters like Thunderaan, Vaelastrasz, or Kel’Thuzad are probably thoroughly “explained” through various bits of quest text in Vanilla but I completely missed all of it - they were just random bosses to me (until I read up on them later) I mean, I only recently found out what a Phylactery was used forIf you’re big on lore and incidental story then just immerse yourself in Classic, read the quest text, take your time and drink it in. It’s an experience.

I don’t think the OP is necessarily thinking about the bigger storylines in total in all of Vanilla. But more the main quest lines inside each zone. I for instance loved “The Legend of Stalvan” from Duskwood back in the day!You could argue what defines a “storyline chain” and what doesn’t. But an addon that shows you the starting quests of those longer chains would for sure be useful. Not every quest leads to something bigger than just that exact quest itself. I’m not planning on using any quest addons at all, but I can really see that someone would want to.

Wow quest not auto tracking 2018

Classic doesn’t revolve around a main storyline or theme as later expansions. It is a world consisting of many stories with different characters and zones.

It is much more localized, which contributes to the feeling of a living world and you being an explorer and aspiring “nobody” in a world of heroes and legends much greater than yourself. Here, every minor quest is a brick in a giant city. If you want story and lore, read the books you find here and there and the quest information. Every word is worth it.
