Hi all!I'm a parent of two minecraft crazy kids who have been watching CrazyCraft videos all week and are hounding me to get it. The thing is, I don't know what it is exactly and how it relates to the Minecraft subscription that I have purchased already.
All I know is that I read everywhere that Mojang (Microsoft) does not support Mods and that if you get a mod, and need technical help, you are out of luck (and may also be kicked out of Minecraft/blocked). I'm also worried about viruses.Is CrazyCraft a minecraft mod that changes (and maybe corrupts) the software program I already paid for and downloaded? Is is a standalone program? Is it a parallel program like realms (I do have this as well)? I don't have a clue!
And I am NOT very knowledgeable about this stuff AT ALL.So. I'd really appreciate a CrazyCraft 101.
What is it, how do I get it, should I get it, what risks are there, what will it do to the Minecraft program on my computer, etc., etc.Help please! My kids are driving me crazy and want this so bad. Although a public server isn't out yet for crazycraft 3.0 but there's no blood or anything that could ever teach your kids more violence. Crazycraft is a modpack that runs it's own file so it will not interrupt your other programs. Crazycraft is a 100% virus free modpack and to open it just download the launcher and from there, type in your email registered to your minecraft account and your password then just click play on any modpack and it should install.
You can report any of your problems with a thread in the help section, or creating a support ticket. A mod pack is a selection of mods, which add extra elements to your minecraft game, such as dungeons, items, and blocks that are not included in the original minecraft game. This mod pack runs on it's own and will not interfere with any other worlds that your kids have made on the original minecraft game. Minecraft updates will not remove this mod pack, because the mod pack updates on it's own and currently uses minecraft version 1.7.10, this will not change.
Realms is probably not supported by Crazy Craft, but you will be able to play on servers with others, when a server is released. A server will probably only be released when most of the important bugs are fixed in this mod pack.I hope this helped! If you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them!
Interesting, thanks! So it sounds like there are other versions of CrazyCraft that do have online multiplayer play on servers. Is that right?
Should I get one of those versions instead and get this one when a server is released? Can one have more than one version of CrazyCraft at a time?Also, I've definitely read that mods change the minecraft program and that Mojang (Microsoft) does not support this and you can get banned if you get caught (for instance if your game crashes and you need to go to them for support). Is this not true? It is one of the main barriers to me getting mods.
That and concerns about viruses.Thanks!Zygadena. Yes that's true, there are other versions of CrazyCraft that have multiplayer servers, but the only one still downloadable is Crazy Craft 2.2. You can have multiple versions of CrazyCraft at a time, as the launcher counts them as two different mod packs. You will be able to play both.Mojang doesn't support mods, that's right, but if your game crashes, it will most likely be because of the mod and not because of a problem with minecraft itself. If it's a problem with the mod you can go to the developer for support and you will not get banned from using the game. This mod pack is 100% virus-free, I've downloaded it myself and run a full anti-virus scan on my computer, there were no viruses.It's perfectly safe to get your kids Crazy Craft!
The only problem might be lag, that depends on what type of computer you are using. But there will be no problems with being banned from minecraft, or getting viruses on your computer.NOTE: there might even already be a Crazy Craft 3.0 server, not sure about that one.
Zygadena Crazycraft runs of a different folder to original Minecraft meaning it cannot inter fear with the normal version of Minecraft. Also it is 100% Safe and will not cause you any problems and like PurplegirlSaid if your PC Is running low on memory/RAM Then clear some things of the PC. The only thing kind of bad that can happen is it being out of memory meaning the game will either crash or freeze and if you do get this message delete/uninstall any un-needed programs or files. I right now recommend Crazycraft 2.2 to your kids due to it is alot more stable then Crazycraft 3.0 and also has it's own Multiplayer server. To use the launcher open it then at the bottom left corner there should be sign in boxes. Use your Minecraft details in those boxes and when thats done click the modpack button at the top of the launcher and scroll down till you see Crazycraft 2.2. Hello sir!I see that a lot of other people have explained things. I also recommend installing CrazyCraft 2.2 because 3.0 is kind of unstable at the moment because it just came out.The only thing I recommend is installing everything for yourself and not telling your kids about it yet because it can be very disappointing when it does not work.Make sure Minecraft is on your computer( And Java 7 or 8!!!!) and then install the VoidLauncher. Open the VoidLauncher.exe and log in with your children's account.
Next to the 'X' is a little gear on the top right. Click on it and go to options uncheck 'Let java decide optimal values' fill in 100% at MAX.(Not at minimum!!!).
All Mods In Crazy Craft
This will give the maximum amount of memory to the game. Don't worry if you have 8GB of RAM and it only give 4GB, this is a safety lock.- Go to Modpacks CrazyCraft 2.2 and click Install or Play.
Then wait until it is done.If it is done you will see a screen. Click Singleplayer New world And Create it. If the world is loaded you press F3.

This will show you all kind of information. At the top left you see fps. This means frames per second. The more the better. It usually is around 60 for good gameplay. Also keep an eye out at the top right. It will say memory usage.
If it says 70% of the maximum (for example 4GB) when doing nothing, your PC might be struggling to get it working.Just walk around a bit. I'm sure you saw your kids play Does gameplay go smooth or is it stuttering?
